Line and Word. Hand drawn sketches from an architect's perspective. Explore sketchbook impressions from around the world.
Ami Shinar presents a reality rich in textures and colors, composed of buildings, treetops, and the tangled lines of urban infrastructure. In his wanderings with author Avraham Balaban, Shinar captures the people they encounter, weaving their unique perspectives into his paintings.
This dialogue between "Line and Word" integrates Balaban’s evocative texts into the exhibition, where words provide the houses, vegetation, and figures with their distinct hue and form. Together, they reveal hidden human and architectural layers within these neighborhoods. Despite the occasionally harsh exterior, both Shinar and Balaban ultimately offer an optimistic gaze, full of vitality.
